Phase change cooling in data centers: A review

چکیده

With the advent of big data era, centers (DCs) related energy use accounts for approximately 3% global electric power consumption. As augmentation data-processing performance and thermal density in DCs, its will undoubtedly continuously burst. Meanwhile, potential safety hazards, caused by IT equipment local overheating, threaten safe operation restrict further development DCs. Thus, efficient cooling approaches should be applied DCs to ensure optimize environment efficiency. Phase change (PCC) technology is regarded as one effective widely-used methods, which have been several years. In this paper, up-to-date PCC technologies are reviewed summarized, well latest progress DC field. Four main discussed namely independent heat pipe cooling, integrated two-phase immersion cold storage systems. Finally, shortcomings current researches on methods while some suggestions future provided promote application achieve operations savings centers.
